The Great Moth Migration: Moth Diaries, Log #2

Every year, miller moths migrate to and through Colorado.
Cute and harmless, but scary. :(

Some years the plague is far worse than others.

This years seems to be particularly popular for the little buggies.

Two entries ago featured me cowering in the bathroom because a moth flew by me.

Luckily, I've figured out that my cat eats the moths if she can catch them!

I don't believe in flat-out killing them, but if she gets sport and a snack, that means they served a purpose. X)

She just nom-nom-nommed a poor fella. :<

I'd prefer saving them, but I'm such a chicken!!

They'll be here for a while apparently. Until summer, I think I read.

In other news, I'll have a video for you Monday.

Tomorrow night will be Disney Princess Movie Marathon night at my apartment with my gal pals.~

And, as for right now, I'm watching Hercules! I find mythology fascinating, but I feel awkward and a bit guilty watching them. Like I'm rooting for the 'good guy'-- a guy made up in place of my Lord and Saviour.. :\

Mixed emotionssss...

Until next time~!

"We're get'n hitch'd!"

My dream dress <3 In white, of course
A while back, I decided I'd someday like to conduct a series of interviews for YouTube.

I would visit one woman every week and question her about her wedding experience.

Some would make you cry, some would make you laugh in disbelief of how catastrophic that day was, etc. :)

I'd still like to do this at some point. Maybe after I finish this 365(ish) thingy, I can cut down to a video a week, or every two weeks, or have no schedule at all.~

And I'm sure it'd get old after a while, but its a nice thought.

My friend Kimberlee is getting married next year and has asked me to be a bridesmaid!

I was the Maid of Honor at my sister's wedding and a bridesmaid at one of my boyfrannn's close friend's wedding. :)
A photo I edited of the 2nd wedding I was in

I've also attended my brother's wedding, which was glamorous...

I want a HUGE wedding.

My mother says that you spend a lot of time stressing over it, but then you forget the details as if it's just another day in your life.

I do hope that's not true for everyone...

I have so many plans...

The boyfrannn and I have been planning to marry for a long time now. We believe that's what dating is for. :)

May 11th is our 2 year dating anniversary!

We celebrate by reliving our first date: Olive Garden and a movie (Shrek 4 was the first one).

Anyway, we plan on marrying once we graduate college. I'm not sure how we came to this decision, but I think it was mine and he hopped right on board (I can't imagine why-- how can you stand to be away from me for more than moments? I'm irresistible! Haa, just kidding. ;D )

So, in a few more years, I'll be picking out table scatter, lighting, and, of course, the perfect dress! :)

Waiting is the most stressful part...

Moth Diaries, Log #1

Miller moths.

They migrate to Colorado every spring to seek blooming flowers.

I hate themmmmm.

It it impossible to drive without killing mass numbers of them. :(

There was a moth in my room, so I tried to move the lamp so that it would be attracted to it and go away from me. Turns out, there was a 2nd moth sitting inside the lamp shade.

As I squealed, I fled here to the bathroom. I heard my cat scramble to eat the one that was in the lamp, but I'm not sure if she succeeded.

I hate killing anything! (Except black widows, which I make other people do-- far away from me.)

So I can't leave this bathroom until they die.

I will be here for months.

Please bring me a burrito.

Until next time.

Fearfully,
Gabi

UPDATE:

I've left the safety of the bathroom after 40 minutes...

Yes, I'm serious. T_T I really don't like insects, ok??

APPARENTLY insects aren't attracted to LED lights!

Guess who's going to Home Depot tomorrow.

The Halloween One

If you've read the "About Gabi" setion of this blog, you may have discovered that I have a passion for Halloween.

I love it to the extent of wishing to someday own a store (a candle shop, a book store, whatevs) that would be Halloween-themed. Or at least filled with Halloween decorations. And on Halloween, I'd throw a huge party of course.

I also mentioned that you will see some Halloween posts when it's nowhere near Halloween time.

This is one of them.

I've always had this idea that I can never wear the same costume twice-- and I haven't yet. I'm also upholding my childhood rule that I'm not allowed to be anything evil or horrifying.

Keeping with these two rules for the 18 years of my life, I've found that, because this holiday has structure, it's become more important to me than to most people. ^^

I guess that's it for now, really... This is kind of a warmer-upper for all the future posts.

Since I'm in a particularly Halloween-obsessed stage right now, I may make several of my crafts Halloween-themed. :)

Peace out. <3

Two Things

Thing #1.

Okay.

If I don't want to go to a party because my mortal enemy is gonna be there, I do not have to go.

I have no moral obligation to attend your gathering unless you are being married or on your death bed. Or if you're a family member who's having a graduation, birthday, etc.

A BBQ is not worth me ripping open old wounds! D:<

BAH!!

/end rant

Thing #2.

I wanted to tell you all a little anecdote.

In Spanish, "mister" is "senor" because, in ye olden days, servants would call their masters "senor", meaning "lord." God is also called "Senor", obviously, because He is Lord.

Reyes is the Spanish word for "kings".

My boyfriend attends a Spanish-speaking church (as he is a Dominican). I've been to it several times.

The pastor at this church is named Jesus.

Since I'm younger than him, I call him Senor Jesus.

Senor Jesus Reyes.

Lovely. XD

I've always found that amusing. :)

Hope you're all having a wonderful day! <3

Optical Illusion

Look at this picture.

There are 4 shades of blue.

Or are there?

Now.

Would you so kindly place your hand sideways (as if you were karate-chopping the screen) on a black line of your choice in the picture.

Bwaha!

It looks like the same shade of blue!!

Wowzers!

That is all. <3

PHAIL.

Hi, all!

No vloggy today!

I'm making a board game.

Today I went over to my older sister's house to get her help, but there is still much to be done until it is complete! :)

I'm excited for the outcome.

I wrote the plot for the game a while ago, but I believe it came to me in a dream.~

Not to brag, but I have some pretty dang awesome dreams sometimes. X) Not sure if this was one of them, but whatevs.

So, anywhoozle!

I wish you a peaceful evening! :)

Uhm, here's a video about Nilla Wafers.~

Rain Forever

Today was the first rain of the year.

There are few things I love more than rain...

With so much power as to wipe out this world
It's contained in summer showers
But let it rain forever, rain forever
Let it flood

I couldn't handle it if the downpour ever ceased
To fill up the cracks in the asphault
So let it rain forever, rain forever
Let it flood

I wouldn't mind swimming everywhere
Sleeping on a cold bed of floating bottles
Please let it rain forever, rain forever
Let it flood

Traveling to your arms would be easier
No ocean would be between us
If we let it rain forever, rain forever
Let it flood

Pruney toes and fingertips would be fashionable
I'd love to hold your soft, webbing hands
Just let it rain forever, rain forever
Let it flood

The several-hour long shower (which is very peculiar for my town) has just ended as I finished the poem...
Until next time, Rain... <3

Goodnight.

To Germany or not to Germany?

I was given the invitation (and I cannot for the life of me remember how or why or when) to visit my brother who is stationed with the military in Ramstein, Germany this summer.

I purchased tickets from June 1 to August 1 to fly into Germany. I would then live with my brother and his wife for those two months in his lovely home.~

Now my brother has unfortunately been called away for deployment in Turkey, where he must go alone and live atop a mountain for secrety reasons. >_>

Because of this, my sister-in-law will be returning home to Louisiana for May and June OR July and August.

Now I'm in a pickle.

These are my options:

-Stay in America (if I can somehow convinced Delta that I DID purchase insurance on my tickets but that their website messed up-- highly unlikely).
-Go to Germany for June and be alone in Germany in July.
-Try to change my tickets to go to Germany to be there with my sister-in-law for one month.

This is a lot to consider...

My dream home of Germany just a plane-ride away... but without my brother's company.

Or stay here with the man of my dreams and not miss him for a moment. <3

*Sigh.*

Thanks, Uncle Sam.

Day 99: Praying Mantis

Today I'm supposed to be inspired by insects.
I was inspired to draw this particular one (which happens to be one of my very least favourites...) by Mr. Kenneth!
Check out all his coolio creations HERE! :)

You're invited~

Hi, all!

I'm playing catch up again now that I'm back from my vacation! :)

I've been working on the video for a few days now (it's my longest one yet, so I don't blame you for giving up halfway through).

Today, I'm supposed to make an invitation for something other than a party, so this invite is you y'all here on BlogSpot!!

Please come visit me on YouTube and leave a comment or a video response. :)

Show off your own creations or just say hello! <3
